Who drinks Aspartame? You really shouldn't.

Since I work at a hospital, I knew already what effects aspartame can have. However I never realized it had hit the mainstream news aka 60 Minutes. I hope more will watch this and change the way they live (ala stop drinking anything with aspartame in it).

Doctor Venkman's reaction was hardly surprising, seeing as you asked him if he supported police officers using intimidation threats of rape and such.

Don't bother Ben.

Just PM Ben if you need to fill him in, no need to harass me sir. If you feel the need to reply to me then do so in the manner of a PM.

@ Ben - It was just to show what tactics the police were using and if you supported them, then you supported their inhumane tactics used on innocent people. Just me trying t fill people in on their acts being used at the summit as well as being combined with me being a drama queen.

My bad. Sorry.

PS. I can PM you other reports Ben if you're interested on learning what really happened at the summit.

Last I checked, this is a message board, and you're not a moderator, so I'll respond to Ben here thanks. And I'm not harassing anyone, you baited me by bringing my name up in something before anyone even responded. I didn't take the bait, sorry to disappoint. If you want to bring my name up, PM me. LOL.

It'd only have been inhumane if they'd actually did it. Terrible the things they may've said, but they were still only words.

It's just like the military, my country's army, and Dan's have been accused of doing some terrible things… some of which has been revealed to be true. Despite those bad apples, we still support our respective armed forces in what they're doing.

The same happens with the police, there are always bad apples in every organisation, but when you're dealing with a city under seige by anarchists… it's hard to keep your cool. When your force's cars are being set on fire and people are hurling things at you, you can't afford to start assuming one protestor is “good”, and another is “bad”. You treat them all the same.

But that's straying way off of the point of the video, which I haven't watched yet, but I'm a bit wary too… as it looks like it could be the sort of loose change-esque hysteria we see every year or so.

It's good to see someone who cares to look into an issue such as this, and also someone who is willing to share it with others, but unfortunately few will care to learn from this post. Sadly, the majority of people and not just in America, but all over the world are far more interested in entertaining themselves rather than learning how to stay healthy and to improve life for the human race.

I touched briefly on this issue in an oral presentation I gave last semester.

I don't see the FDA protecting us from potentially dangerous substances. For example, researchers in other nations have studied Stevia (a natural sweetener) and did not find any harmful aspects to it. However, the FDA claims Stevia may still be dangerous and so they have made it illegal to use as a sweetener until further tests can be completed. Well, we're still waiting for those tests. Meanwhile, the FDA claims to have little control over health food products and so Stevia can be purchased in America, but only from health food stores.

It should become obvious that the FDA is actually just protecting aspartame and sugar products, not us. They only let Stevia be sold at health food stores so the few people who know about it and want it can get it, without becoming irritated with the FDA's ridiculous ban on Stevia products.

If aspartame and sugar are causing brain tumors, diabetes, and other health problems, those who don't care to find out about it will get what they deserved, and they will deserve what they get.

Well Said Ben.

Back on Subject:

The drinks that I drink daily have a decent quantity of aspartame in them. Do I care? Not really. I would rather live the way I want to…happy and content…and die young than to live miserable and live long watching out / being afraid of every little thing that's going to kill me. I mean we all got to die of something, right?

They did. If you're interested on learning more of what really happened all you need to do is check the CBC news. journalists are coming forward with horrific stories. I think a civilian investigation is underway, but the people here in Canada would love a federal or provincial investigation done by the government. Like I said, just PM if you're truly interested in learning more on the event.

Here's some links so you can read some articles that are now moving forward:

…as it looks like it could be the sort of loose change-esque hysteria we see every year or so.

It was made by 60 Minutes years before loose change. I don't think loose change was the start hysteria, but the film raised a few good points.

@BigMac - I'm glad you feel the same way as I with this material. That Donal Rumsfeld is one of the most evil dudes ever. I hope you don't live in America and drink milk, that's full of chemicals to give you cancer. Watch the film Food Inc if you're interested in learning more on what you really eat. Made me think twice about what I bought at the market.

It's sad we live in a world run by money men and greed.

What sorta insider stuff do you know or have read into, I wish more of us were making others aware of these and I think i may have a reason why people ignore this info and keep going on with their lives. One word: FLUORIDE!

@JamesCGamora - To each their own. At least you're aware of the consequences of the actions those drinks have. I do agree with you, we all die some time.

Luckily for me, I don't drink any Diet drinks, which seem to be the most likely products to contain Aspartame, so it seems as though I'm safe for the most part.

James, you shouldn't live your life in fear, but willfully doing things that could cause cancer isn't exactly the greatest idea either in my opinion. I mean, you say you'd rather die young than live a long miserable life watching out for stuff, but brain cancer won't exactly be a field day. That would be a pretty miserable way to go, I'd think. I get your overall point, just sayin.
