Who should make the new ghostbusters song?

The one in Brosnan's Bond movies were always annoying! Five minutes of some woman singing and silhouettes. Thank God Casino Royale went a cooler and better way.

Yeah man, what happened to the cool 80s music. But I'm sure Ray would re-record it given the correct amount in his bank account.

But wouldn't we all. :p

Ghostbusters is almost best known for its theme song. In the second Run D.M.C made that decent remix. BUT my point is, that the 3rd one should use the original theme. Then the circle is complete, or something like that…

or have Ray Parker re-record the song with 00's modern instrumentation.

ray parker doesnt do that kinda music anymore i think

(*winston)

some ones gotta bring back the 80s man!!

haha

i tihnk an orginal Chris Cornell song would work…not a remake of the orginal theme but something that he can create that would go well..

he did the opening sequence for Casino Royale and it was perfect!

I dunno, his song for Casino Royale was okay but it was kind of weak as a signature tune to me… there was no way it compared to Goldeneye or The Living Daylights.

the difference between Casino Royales theme and all the others, was that i could actually listen to that song while im hangin at home or driving around. I was never able to do that with any of the other themes.

I'm thinking they should use Jimmy Black's cover version, as heard on “The Real Ghostbusters”–instrumentation's much better than on the actual theme.

Jimmy Black? He released one rendition that sounded like the RGB rendition but his wasn't used on the show.

At first I hated the rock version of the theme used in XGB, but now I like it.

But I doubt it'd be used with a movie about the original guys. Could definitely work in a GB “passing down the torch” movie.

Oh, it wasn't? Hmm…was it “John Black” or something like that?

I was also thinking maybe they could use the dub version. I also like that version and it sound a bit different.

Best regards,

You can hear both the version used in the cartoon and Jimmy Black's rendition at the audio project… LINK They're both notably different in how they sound even if the Black rendition uses the notation of the cartoon theme… which I felt had a bit more punch to it.

If I recall correctly, the end credits of RGB said the song was sung by a ‘John Smith’, which really helps us in identifying anything…
