Just wondering who do people think should do the musical score for Ghostbusters III? I'll go for John Carpenter, Hans Zimmer or Harry Gregson Williams.

Thomas Newman, James Newton Howard, David Kitay or Danny Elfman. A person who can balance spookiness, eeriness with playfulness is needed. Visit itunes & plug in their names to hear their styles.

John Carpenter is a very talented composer I love his scores for Halloween, Escape from New York/L.A., Ghosts of Mars, They Live, Christine, In The Mouth of Madness and many others.
Not only can he write music, compose and produce he can play guitar, sing and play keyboards/piano and he's even had his own rock band, heck if anything he's over qualified.

your thinking of danny elfmans work with time burton. the music that he wrote for spiderman is anything but playful. danny can be serious if the movie calls for it. i would be more than happy than to see danny elfman compose the new GB
