Just wondering who do people think should do the musical score for Ghostbusters III? I'll go for John Carpenter, Hans Zimmer or Harry Gregson Williams.

John Cartpenter? You must be joking! Never heardv of the other two.

Since Elmer Bernstein is no longer with us it would have to be John Williams but that'l never happen.

Perhaps Elmer Bernsteins original score could be reworked for the third. I've never liked Randy Edlemans score. It's too light hearted.

Ooo! A new debate I can like!

Hans has definately done some good stuff, (This is for those who may know the name but not the work) the scores for The Da Vinci Code, The Rock and Muppet Treasure Island.

He can do dramatic really well… although it may not be the right sound for a Ghostbusters film. Elmer's original score worked really well… but since his passing it'd likely be hard to reproduce.

If we were able to hear what such and such composer would do if he were selected… I'd like to hear what Klaus Badelt could do, I enjoyed his score work on both The Day After Tomorrow and The Time Machine… he was the name I chose when thinking of someone to list as the scorer for my GB3 Hellbent poster.

John Carpenter is a very talented composer I love his scores for Halloween, Escape from New York/L.A., Ghosts of Mars, They Live, Christine, In The Mouth of Madness and many others.

Not only can he write music, compose and produce he can play guitar, sing and play keyboards/piano and he's even had his own rock band, heck if anything he's over qualified.

Thomas Newman, James Newton Howard, David Kitay or Danny Elfman. A person who can balance spookiness, eeriness with playfulness is needed. Visit itunes & plug in their names to hear their styles.

I thought Randy Edelman's stuff from ghostbusters II was awesome. So I figure he could do it again if given the chance.

your thinking of danny elfmans work with time burton. the music that he wrote for spiderman is anything but playful. danny can be serious if the movie calls for it. i would be more than happy than to see danny elfman compose the new GB

It's got to be an orchestral score.

Ooh Thomas Newman, I forgot about him! Bill Conti anyone?

I didn't hear of Hans Zimmer until Batman Begins.

John Williams would be impossible.

John Carpenter barely ever scores movies that he doesn't direct, let alone a CG movie.

Alan Silverstri would be pretty good imo.

But Danny Elfman would be absolutely perfect, 2nd best film composer there is.

DANNY ELFMAN! ofcourse, he's brilliant and talented, he can blend the zany and funny with the spooky and gloomy perfectly. Elfman's my one and only choice for the new score. anyone who says otherwise, can shove sand.
