Because unfortunately as flawed as the XGB cast may have been, the original Hellbent characters were a good deal worse. And there's nothing wrong with hypotheticals when we know they won't ever happen.

thats total weak sauce guys!! Extreme Ghostbusters would be fantastic if done right, and I think what would be a better movie is a remake of Ghostbusters, but Real Ghostbusters style, forget the thing Bill Murry wouldn't touch with a ten foot cattle prod, instead let us look to the future I really like the first choices posted, But go with Vargas, so a better question who would be in the REAL GHOSTBUSTERS LIVE ACTION????? (note this would be comparible to Transformers the movie)

Why would they make a live version of a cartoon based on a movie, which was live to begin with? That wouldn't make sense. I would understand a 3D Ghostbusters film, but something based on the cartoon seems like an unlikely move.

Because the GB3 story sucked bad. Besides, the concept was similar to EGB with a new team, only difference is the characters had no real personality. I haven't read the script myself, but there have been reveiws from a few GB fans who have read the script, and there opinion is pretty much the same, they're glad it never happened this way.

I agree about the GB3 sucking total weak sauce but RGB the movie would be a better as movie, being a remake, than GB3 as a movie on it's own. also EGB is very well written (is written a word?) as characters are concerned, plus EGB wouldn't make sense as a movie because a lot of cannon is from RGB so it would have to a little back story added like some straight to DVD animation tie in.

They could easily rewrite the EGB story a bit to tie in with the movie. It wouldn't be hard, and it's pretty easy as how much stuff is really taken from RGB? The ghosts running out? Slimer was already in GB2, they could easily incoporate that into an EGB movie. Not a lot of elements are really that different, excpet for the ghosts they fought, which again could easily be changed.

How is that needed? It doesn't change the plot any. The story of the ghosts raising and new busters could easily go without the Egon and Janine bit. Besides, Egon never actually went out with Janine, and by GB2 she figured that Egon wasn't chasing back so she gave up.

the rollerghoster episode of The Real ghostbusters ring any bells. Extreme ghostbusters is part of the real ghostbusters, as such it needs to be true to the cartoon show it would only be fair, plus GB2 was a failure so i would try to distance it from the Extreme ghostbusters. IMO GB2 was not necessary.
