Again, it can be EASILY changed. As long as nothing derpives from the main plot, it can be changed. Rollerghoster didn't really have any impact on the EGB plot, as the EGB plot is the franchise is out of business, but gets back in buisness with new busters.
Extreme Ghostbusters might be a sequel, but how can the main plot not be changed the fit the movie continuity? It's not that far, and if you're not nit picking at little episodes like roller ghoster, it can easily be done.

plus GB2 was a failure so i would try to distance it from the Extreme ghostbusters. IMO GB2 was not necessary.
So a failure means you automatically take it out? It's part of the series, no matter what happens. They actually didn't even plan GB2, they wanted to do it because of the hype RGB was getting.
