Who would you cast as replacements for the original team?

ItÂd be hard to find replacements for the originals. I mean they made the roles what they were. But if I had to choose a replacement castÂ
this is the way ÂI- would go:
Egon = Malcom Gets
Peter = Definately David Krumholtz
Ray = would say Bob Hoskins if it were many yrs ago. But I'll go with Frank Caliendo
Winston = Wesley Snipes
Janine = Christa Miller
Louis = Paul Reubens (Since he couldn't be Ivo Shandor / Gozer)
Stay Puft = Bibendum
Walter Peck = I tried to think of a replacement with no luck

Now if I had to go with a British Cast I think David Tennant could be a good Egon. He is a hella good Doctor atleast…Simon Pegg as Venkman, Nick Frost as Ray and Chris Barrie as Winston.
I have no clue on the rest but I think Bill Nighy would make an intresting Gozer

Personally, I wouldn't replace the original team by other actors. I'd rather see a new team in a Ghostbusters: The Next Generation style.
I want to see members of the original team supervising the new team.
Since the original team was mostly formed of SNL and SCTV comedians, I would do the same for the new team. I would see Jimmy Fallon, Andy Samberg or Bill Hader. I also want to see a girl in the team, that would kick some ghost asses!
I also want to see Slimer messing around. :-)

For Janine, I'm thinking Amy Acker ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0009918/ ) or Nora Zehetner ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0954253/ ). Curiously, both ladies are Southerners, as is Annie Potts (albeit different states, TX TX and KY respectively). Probably the source of Janine's sass.
For Ray, I keep picturing Patrick Labyorteaux ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0479779/ ). I think he can handle the “big kid” aspects of the role.
For Dana, let us turn to it-girl of the moment Jill “Mercury Girl” Wagner ( http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1489978/ ). If you need to ask why, you're not paying attention.

Personally, the real spiritual successors to the moviemaking of Ramis/Reitman and the chemistry of the old SCTV/SNL cast, I think, are Judd Apatow and the actors he works with a lot like Seth Rogen.
So that's who I'd put in charge of casting a new GB film if they ever made one.
But I don't WANT there to ever be another GB film unless they promise not to remake anything, and to leave NYC alone and tell the story of an altogether new franchise, because you just cannot replace Venkman, Stantz, Spengler, and Zeddemore.
Ever.
It's like…why do people keep trying to tell the plot of EGB over and over again in their ideas?
