lol I'd love to see Steve Carell doing a serious role on an entire movie

I just really like their style. They bring a bit of comedy to the party that I havn't seen in a long time, and I believe they would be appropriate for the part. SO many fan films have found succesful ways to bring in new recruitrs with little to no involvment by the original cast and it seems to work out great…why not do it feature length. Hell, at the very least do it without Murray…for crying out loud. I'd be happy ATLEAST seeing Aykroyd and Ramis suit up again, throw in a little Rick Morranis and Annie Potts a dash of Hudson and we're good.

My problem is, I am much more connected to the animated series rather than the movie…I just found it more entertaining. So for some reason I always mentally cast the characters based on their animated personas/images, rather than being loyal to the original cast (which I totally understand)…just me I guess…

My God… that's a real an old pic of Matthew Perry. :-O

That said, I'd never considered Nathan Fillian as Peter Venkman, but I could see it working.

Although I think Perry would be miscast as Ray… his grasp of sarcasm would easily make him a contender for Venkman if need be, but I think Fillian could make a great Venkman given how good he was at Mal Reynolds.

He was my first Choice for Peter but I thought he was too nice to Peter as Peter is a jerk.However as ray I could see him been comical and making come sarcastic comments but still suiting the charracter well.

I'm so for the original cast… but man those choices aren't too bad!

I'd have to see a few of them in a movie first before I'd give both thumbs up though.

I think I just might boycott the movie if Stephen Colbert was in it. God that guy is just awful.

A lot of these other choices have been good though. I like Matthew Perry and think he could pull off either Venkman or Ray really well. Not to try to bring in all Friends related people, but I also think that David Schwimmer could be a good Egon.

And I whole heartedly agree with the statements made about the guys from 40 year old virgin. They would be great. Steve Carell would make an excellent Egon, he's funny, yet can pull of the serious dead pan type of stuff. Paul Rudd is just freakin hilarious and would be possibly the best Venkman suggested yet. Romany Malco was great in 40 year old virgin as Jay, and could make a really good Winston. Seth Rogen doesn't really have the look for Ray, but he's a great actor and is just absolutely one of the funniest guys out there right now.
