Hi Guys,

I'm new to the boards. I'm not sure that this has been reported,

but according to americandreamcomics.com the new line from Mattel is

Ghostbusters!!!! Here's the link: Mattel Set to Launch Collectible Line for Classic Comedy Blockbuster “Ghostbusters” It's a mattycollector.com exclusive line.

Well that's just fantastic news. I am intregued that Mattel got the likeness rights where NECA did not. Guess working on the video game really did change Bill Murray's mind about it.

Question though: NECA announced it was releasing a transparent game edition of Slimer. If Mattel has the toy rights to everything else - won't that leave the new Slimer just out to dry on NECA's side of things?

This is simply amazing. Can't wait for June… God that's gonna be an expensive month.

Great to hear they're gonna be on display this weekend at NYCC… that might be what solidifies my decision to go.

EDIT: Yup, it did it for me. I'll be there on Friday, most likely all day.

There may be a problem with photographs, as it says people can only see the prototypes by invitation only.

But damn, I want to see them as much as you guys.


I admit, it sounds too good to be true. I hope it is, as it'd truely make this a summer to be a part of… but past franchise experience is telling me not to get too excited. :p

Although it's a shame they'll be exclusives of the Mattel site, I just hope they don't do a limited run so we can all get them. I'm especially ecxcited about new Real Ghostbusters figures, and villains!

I took the “invitation only” part to only apply to the Mattel Toy Fair in 2 weeks. The way the sentence is worded to me implies they will be on display this weekend. If not, I'll be doing my damndest to get them to let me see them.
