Even still, this late in the game, its pretty much certain that these pictures are what the packaging is going to look like, with only 3 weeks to go.

Mattel is famous for packaging changes at the last minute. i would not be surprised if it changed

Thing is, everything you see on store shelves is decided upon weeks or even months back.

Say you go into a store, see packaging variant A and go in a week later and see packaging variant B. It's easy to assume that the change was made during that week-long interim but in reality packaging variant B was probably put through production at least 3 months prior and the change was made as a result of something that popped up 3 months and 1 week before that when the initial packaging design was in production.

Is it possible that Mattel put this change through a week after the packaging we are seeing was finalized? Obviously, but it's obviously unlikely as well. Either way, it's too late in the game for them to read someone's suggestion on an online forum and implement it on something that will be released in the next few weeks.

They're probably going to go for around $60 each or so, but the good news is they will be coming out once every other month or so probably, so its not like there will be 4 to buy all at once.
