I think discussion on The Trap has died down because there is no new information, everyone wants one, we have all seen the videos from SDCC and they have confirmed that it will ship worldwide unlike how the PKE Meter did not.

I would say talk will pick up in about a months time.

I've contacted Mattel twice since recieveing my RTBY Egon Spengler figure that had looked like someone stomped on the box. Both times they told me that I would recieve a email from them, still have yet to get one and yes, I've been filtering my junk emails too. They wonder why people complain. This looked more or less like a UPS problem but someone needs to take some responsibility for this. I didn't pay almost $30 for a smashed box, and smashed packaging of the figure. The white box is not only smashed but torn bc of it and the figure itself barely clings to the card. Pure bs.

How do you buy things from mattycollector? Do you have to be a member or a pre-subscriber? I'd like to get the trap but have no idea how to get it or can I just purchase when the time comes? I really hate that I missed the PKE meter and sortta regret it, but I sure as hell ain't paying the ridiculous prices on ebay. If it came out at $60 why should I pay anymore for one? I hope Mattel changes their minds and maybe makes more PKE's down the way. If they deemed it successful enuff to go make the trap after, why can't they rerelease the pke? When purchasing a figure or prop from MattyCollector for the first time, you go through a set of steps to register an account with them.

Some people had managed to work out a way to set up an account on a day where a figure hasn't been released (such as selecting one of the Masters of the Universe figures I think), but I'm not sure of the exact process.

Mattel has so far stated that they likely wouldn't be producing a new run of PKEs unless Ghostbusters 3 came out.

I'll elaborate on what Kingpin said.

If you add something to your cart right now, anything, you can go through the steps of ordering something to create an account. Then once your account is created, just empty your cart and don't actually purchase anything. This way, you don't have to go through the set up process on the day of the sale.

As for the PKE. Like Kingpin said, they're not re-releasing it unless GBIII comes out. They want to concentrate on other props, and the main thing that you'll learn about Mattycollector, is that its a “Limited Number” type of business. They create collectibles in limited numbers, not mass produced toys. The PKE Meter, yes, came out at $60, but that's not what it is worth today. It is worth much, much more. You saying that you shouldn't have to pay more for that would be like me saying that I shouldn't have to pay more than $5 for a MOC Real Ghostbusters figure from 1986, because that's what it cost when it came out. Value varies. Supply vs. demand is a major effect. You can't expect the price of something, especially something released in a limited number, to never fluctuate. That's just silly.

To the person asking about getting items replaced/refunded by matty I don't know about the refund but I can tell you the replacement takes forever. The battlecat that I bought was damaged and I asked for a replacement if they had them because the site said “sold out” and after a month of asking every week what was going on they finally said they shipped one to me. I should have it this week.

I just looked at my emails. My first email was sent on July 27th. I got the mail they were shipping me a new one on 8/29 and then I got another email on 8/31 that it was shipped. As of 9/2 it was in IN and I live in Ohio so it should be here hopefully by Friday/Saturday.

Just make sure you keep on them because I think that they might just push it under the rug if you don't keep on them.

My Stay Puft arrived this morning. Unfortunately got hit with customs charges. The head had popped off at some point during shipping but no damage that I could see. But it's the size that is impressive.

When did Matty first put up photos and info on the PKE to their site? Seems kinda strange that it's not listed when October is right around the corner…

Amen, brother. All of us have to have the $$ put aside for this epic product. A final price and release date would help, leaving only shipping(& sometimes tax) as the only variable-although I'm only allotting $30 for those.
