I always found it amazing that they actually got Aykroyd to do such a small cameo.

Even more amazing is his cameo in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

It wasn't Ray's movie, though. Yeah, the Ray Stantz we know from the movies and cartoons could take down those three losers without breaking a sweat, but if they put that Ray in their movie…well, they wouldn't have much of a movie left, would they?

Think of it as the Ray Stantz of the Casper Universe instead of the Ghostbusters Universe(s). He's not nearly as good as the real Ray, and got his butt handed to him.

And relax…it was just a fun cameo for humor's sake.
