Who's up for nominating some new moderators?

I agree with Chris, as it seems to be a very good idea. Sadly, my voice (or keyboard) probably doesn't have say in this seeing as Chad has already said this is final.

Ron - Sorry for twisting your quote about Bo and PC.

Fritz - Sorry for misusing your quote.

Ben - Yeah, same.

Oh, and for those who read my inital NS post: I edited it for a reason. Not because Chad or anyone else told me to. But because I was seriously pissed when I wrote it and we all need to blow off steam somewhere.

I still stand by most of what I said. Especially the bit about reading the thread before you post (thanks again Chris for the huge letters!).

You can consider this my obligatory “goodwill” post-suspension post, by the way. I've made enough of them in my time.

Start a new thread. Have the mods not vote. Have only the people vote. Give the poll a week. Then finish it up. IF the people vote for or against in that week, determines the final decision. Because an ongoing poll like this cant be settled. so inform everyone they have a week to vote, then its final.

I third that. I think this would be a fair representation of the general people's opinions.

BTW - if we're fine with less moderators than originally instated, why did we elect so many in the first place?

I agree that we should replace the mods we lost.

How would you prevent the mods from voting though?

Thats a good question Sinister. We would have to trust our mods on there truth. Though I think the mods should be allowed to vote also even though they are already elected. They are still apart of the same rank as those of us who are not mods. The president does vote during the election. No doubt he votes for himself. Some of our mods here like evil_toaster and Chris Spade think we should fill the postions that are open. I think what we need is to have the other members besides us that are already posting in this Board Talk section to come in and vote. Because right now there are more mods in here looking at this place than there are members who are not mods.

The reason the mods shouldn't vote is because they're not really the ones who should be deciding whether we need more or not.

It's like asking for the mods to decide whether they're doing a good enough job. Of course they're gonna say yes.

How about letting the mods from the misc section vote then since it is they're part of the board they control along with the members who are not mods?

Theres no reason the mods shouldn't be able to vote. We're “citizens” of this board, the President votes in the Presidential Election. This is no different. I'm not saying this because I think it would change the margin any, I'm just further trying to push the fact that some of you are forgetting that we are also human beings just like you…

I think the mods should be able to vote in an election, but not on whether we have an election. Just think about it for a second. As mods you don't get the same perspective as we do. You see everything from a mod's point of view. You look talk to other mods about plans and whatnot inside your mod only board. I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing. All I'm saying is, we don't ge to see the inner workings. All we have is what we see you do in the actual field. And as such, I think we're a better judge of how good a job you're doing than you are.

Seriously now, if you mods were asked if you were doing a good job or not, and if saying no meant losing your position, what would you say?

It's just the same as asking someone you're about to ban whether they think they are a valued member of the community, or whether they contribute enough positive work. When's the last time you did that? Never, because they'll always be biased in their own defence.
