Why did the ghostbusters sometimes seem in a hurry with the trap?

In some scenes of the films, the busters seemed calm while holding a trap, calmly walking out of a store or walking around the GB Hq.

But in other scenes, they seemed as if there were something urgent where they were trying to rush out of the scene, namely where Ray comes out and says “Stand aside please!” and the scene where Peter is holding the trap while Egon and Ray are trying to clear the way for them

Just something I noticed, I figure once a ghost is in a trap they're fine, but why the rush in some scenes? Did the traps have a limit to how long they'd keep the ghost locked in before the spook could get out? That could be a reason as to why they'd try to get back to the containment unit.

Maybe the trap's batteries were running out in those scenes or maybe the ghost was strong enough it might get out?

In practical terms it was for dramtic effect and since the montage scenes were filmed 1st maybe they didn't have it figured out yet.

It may also have been that as time went by they wanted to show the Busters got alot mellower and saw the job as getting mundane.

Or maybe it was a busy business day and they were in a hurry trying to get to the next bust as soon as possible

I was thinking the same… too many jobs in a day, so they need to go to the HQ and empty the traps on the CU before they attend the next bust.

There's also the smell, if a Trap's giving off a bad funk, last thing you want is to start stinking out a place, or setting off the fire alarm because of the smoke.

Isn't there some kind of 48-hour time limit with the trap's batteries?

If you read it… this conversation seems quite humorous.

i figured this too….not to mention, walking around crowds of people with a large, smoking containing trap full of an ectoplasmic entity probably freaked people out,so they wanted to get it out of sight quickly…

“Giuys,you're scaring the straights!”
