Why do you think Ghostbusters 3 should be made?

Yes, trilogies love ‘tying’ it all together.

- I would love to see flashbacks to some of their past battles (other ‘perspective’s etc.)

- How they got together. Particulary Egon and Peter and maybe even the part where Egon tried to drill a hole through his head.

- I wouldn't mind having something about linking Vigo and Gozer to elements and events unfolding in the third epic. (Don't bash me, you know what I mean)

- One of those ‘Mr. Smith’ moments, where something has happened in the first and second movies in the background, that you don't see until the third. Something to do with the ever-present Slimer, and the happenings that happen to Dana.

- Oscar has to be in it! All grown up… awwww… Anyway, some familiarity with the other movies to see things have progressed and time has elapsed instead of just a semi-clean slate. (ie instead of having just the oldbies, and newbies, have someone who will be both.)

I think GB3 should be made solely being that it was a big with GB1 and GB2 i remember queues massive queues to get in the odean in Edinburgh when i was a kid, lets not forget Superman Returns was a big blockbuster this year, that a lot enjoyed, and there is plenty more movies aka remakes and sequels that are coming out and people are praising, its just unfortunate that ive read from other posts recently and saw a video from Dan Akyroyd saying he doesnt wanna act and that GB3 is dead, its a pity his fanbase will be hurt by that remark.

I doubt a huge amount of it would've been hurt, a lot of people had come to the conclusion a third film wasn't going to happen… Aykroyd's word was simply clarification from the horse's mouth.

In my humble opinion…it should definatley be made :3

I mean come on, if the movie is about what all the rumors say it's about (following one of the new franchises) that would be pretty awsome..i think…

Um, the only possible rumours about following a new franchise would be the next generation of the New York Ghostbusters, not some new team based somewhere else that'd be loosely related to the New York outfit.

Because it was a great movie then and it's still a great movie. The Ninja Turtles made their comeback a couple years ago and so did heman. I think it's only natural that the Ghostbusters come back for another run.

as fusi0n said,

I think a third should be made to:
1) Shut the critics and bashers up who blasted GB2 for being too ‘samey’ and EGB (which I liked)
2) Finalise a great series, and potentially expand it.
3) To show that this franchise still has a great loyal fanbase AND the legs to hold its own with the current field/trend of movies. A TRUE comedy! (Heck, the first STILL is recognised as one of the all time greatest!)

never had i heard truer words.
i totaly agree!

I'm in 2 minds about this…

Yes they should - I love GB and it made up about 85% of my childhood. These guys influenced me so much that my career was based on them. I couldn't be a Ghostbuster so I chose the next best thing: Crimebuster.

A new movie would, as already stated, show there is still a loyal fan base and it'd be great to see the team and Ecto 1 again.

No - I don't want it to follow “Terminator.” 1 & 2 were awesome films and then some dumbarse came along and made 3 (which was arse).

The music in both GB films completed them. The 80's hip-hop sound gave a bit more grit to the dirty streets of New York and also gave it a sort of cult status. Who's going to take the place of the Alessi Brothers and Bobby Brown? As much as I love Dr.Dre and Eminem, etc, today's hip-hop just doesn't fit in with GB. I can see the film being ruined by idiots wearing tight jeans and who are in desperate need of a hair cut.

I don't want my childhood memories ruined by a modern day hash - I've never seen Extreme Ghostbusters for this very reason.

Overall, it's a no from me. GB is a product of the 80s - the rubbish special effects just add to it's appeal. Also, if the original cast are replaced then there's just no point. No one can replace the fab 4.
