It's not called BotCon anymore…it's now “The Official Transformers Convention” or some other such nonsense. The guys who started BotCon were forced out right after last year's con, and there's only one of the three of them left to run the show…straight into the ground.

I was looking forward to BotCon this year…but I'm not even sure I'm gonna go now. If I do, it'll only be because I'm helping out with a company that may or may not be headed to the con for something that they haven't even announced yet. But I don't think they're going, so I probably won't.

Gozer-

I believe it was “989 studios” and not “88mph studios” who did twisted metal, hehe.

But anyways,
I can't wait to see this coverage! Can you imagine the covers of the next Wizard magazines in the near future?! GB everywhere!!

I look forward to meeting you LeadSlinger. As I look forward to meeting all who plan on attending.

Like I said earlier, Chris Stewart from ProtonCharging.com and I are cooking up something good. Stay Tuned for what may be the first step in bringing some organization outside of the web for this community.

Unfortunately the plans are only for San Deigo and Chicago at this time. I posted a blurb about this on in convention thread.

To sum up, nothing is written in stone yet, but there will be an informal gathering at the Comic Con in San Diego where I will be attending, and details are yet to be worked out, but there will likely be another gathering a few weeks later at the Wizard World con in Chicago.

These won't be full blown cons - they won't even be elaborate - rather these will be a gathering of like-minded fans who want to meet one another while hanging out at two of the biggest cons going.

While this is all vague, I thought it should be brought up now so that anyone interested in attending can begin planning the things they need to plan on their own (registering, travel, hotels) and the sooner the better as time keeps on slippin' into the future.
