Will Ivan Riteman Direct GB3 ?

Now we all know that Ghostbusters III is in the works, but one Question remains will Ivan Riteman return for the thrid installment. your comments please.:-)

It's about as “in the works” as it has been for the past decade.

Don't know if Ivan would return if it got to the filming stage… I vaguely recall something suggesting he wouldn't take up the directorial reins, but possibly a producorial role.

Ivan Reitman: Certainly as producer and director of the original movie, I’m going to have that opportunity. The only way I could direct it is if I felt that I could find something wonderfully new to do and to live up to the tradition of the first one. So don’t write that I’m going to direct the next one. I’m not sure and I’m not even sure that there is going to be a next one but I think there’s certainly a great interest in doing it.

Ramis in a recent interview was asked that he stated that if the story is right Reitman will direct but first they have to look at the script, I am bewildered has the GB3 went down the drain Protoncharging.com. say its been scrapped again, wtf is going on?!?!??!?!!?!?

i remember in a Q and A video, he was asked if he'd ever direct again, and he mentioned ‘hopefully again with Billy Murray in Ghostbusters 3" and then there was a big cheer. so its maybe he will, maybe he wont. But i cant really see another person directing it. The whole GB crew formed a chemestry that shouldnt be broken, it only feels right to have Ivan direct.

And Yeah, what is going on with GB3? it seemed to be getting alot of steam just a bit of a month ago. now its August, and we’ve heard no word on the script being completed or what. another let down, perhaps patience is a virtue, if that way any longer to make this damn film, theyre going to be pushing 70. well…i geuss we shall wait till september when we hear something fresh.

I think there's a chance he could see it as coming full circle or as a good comeback vehicle, and return. I don't really know though, but I'd love for Ivan to do it.
