Not necessarily. The logo patch for the spares probably took a long time to ship from wherever they were being made.

And they wouldn't order them in bulk when to match their bulk order of jumpsuits?

LOL, its just an oversight.

also don't forget…the scenes were not filmed in the order that they were presented in the film; if you want another example of a good, Reitman accidentally edited a scene that actually happens AFTER Ray gets hypnotized by Vigo into the movie BEFOREHAND.

That one scene during their 'busting montage, where he suddenly veers sharply to the left in Ecto-1A, and Peter has that look on his face look “what the &%$# was that?”

I myself was confused by that scene..until I found it was supposed to take place later in the film.

Hudson was also barely even in the movie, so maybe his jumpsuit was as much of an afterthought to them as he was.

i doubt the costume department would have made such a huge error like that, there must be a reason…

what always stands out to me in the first film is the scene where peter meets dana outside her rehearsal, its clearly been in the wrong place, im sure you've all noticed it as we are all members of a ghostbusters forum and there for, have seen the film many times, but for those of you who havent,

the bit where winston gets the job, peter is walking over to Janine covered in slime smoking a cigarette /cut to peter and dana outside/cut back to peter talking to janine with the same slime on his jumpsuit smoking the same cigarette.

its really annoying

It wasn't that annoying.

I'm guessing it's an extra jumpsuit as the one he had on previously got slimed, right?

No, you're not imagining that one. In the original script, it worked like this:

Venkman meets with Dana and Andre after rehearsal

Undefined amount of time later, Winston is hired, and Venkman goes right into encounter with Peck. Then we cut to Winston being shown how the ghost traps work.

But probably for pacing reasons, and maybe to get Winston in sooner, they moved Venkman and Dana after rehearsal right in the middle of that scene, thus making the EPA visit and Winston being shown the Containment Unit take place probably on a completely different day.

Which actually surprised me–I thought the Dana/Venkman/Andre scene should have taken place after the Winston/Peck/ECU bit, to leave the time frame a little more open especially as Winston later says he's been with the company “A few weeks”. As it is, the final cut makes it look like he'd been hired less than a week before the Gozer battle.

If you think about to too hard like I did, of course.:-)

Does that winston is being shown how the traps work on a different day too?

Also, im sure the guys have a few suits laying around the place that arent finished, for like fixing the car and junk.

I never noticed that until it was pointed out. As others have said, I would think the scene may have been among several filmed before the logo was conceived or it's just a simple continuity mistake, it happens during filming of movies.

Probably. I realize I didn't make my point as clear as I intended. In the original script, Winston is taken down to the basement and shown the ECU and how to load the traps into it right after he's hired; Venkman, meanwhile, is arguing with Peck.

I guess it's possible that Venkman left after Winston was hired, stalked Dana during her rehearsal, and came back to the firehouse to argue with Peck on the same day, but the intercutting does muddy up the time frame a little bit, and at the same time makes it look like Winston wasn't shown the traps and ECU until some time after he's hired.

Like I said, I probably thought about this too much.:-)

Maybe the scene was reversed in post production so the should we see is his left arm shoulder which wouldn't have a patch on it anyways…
