Wish The Best For My Cat...

Thanks We got word this morning that she's bobbing her head less but otherwise there's been no change, but so far she has shown some good progress. We're still hoping for the best.

Well she's going to be discharged tomorrow and will return home, where we'll take extra-attentive care of her as she's still wobbling when she tries to walk and is still bobbing her head (although less than before). The steroids she's been given are likely going to wear off tomorrow and she may get better, worse or there may be no change, we don't know. It's still unclear exactly what she has but bacterial meningitis seems very likely. We're just hoping she recovers and improves.

Thanks again for your support and believe me when I say it helps

She's coming back later today. So far she's holding well, her test results came back negative but the doctors are still unsure of what she has, although bacterial or spinal meningitis seems likely. Regardless we all hope for the best and I'll keep you all up-to-date on everything, and thank you all again so much for your support

Well we got her back, she's doing far better than this past Sunday. She's trying to walk and she has some degree of mobility and she reacts, but she's still bobbing her head and still has difficulty balancing herself. The doctors still don't know what she has but they suspect it has something to do with her brain and we unfortunately can't afford to take her to a neurologist (an MRI scan could determine what she has). The doctors don't know her chances of survival, nor if what she has is treatable and/or curable, but we're hoping she'll pull through and make a full recovery.

Thank you all again for the support, it means everything and it helps our cat

She's shown a lot of improvement now, she can now use the litterbox on her own and is getting on the bed on her own as well. She's also bobbing her head a lot less and is moving around a lot although she's still having difficulty balancing herself, but she seems to have more control. We're hoping she continues to improve and ultimately recover (and we'll see how she holds up after her medication is depleted, hopefully she'll improve on her own after her medication is administered).

Thank you all again so much for the support and I'll keep all of you up-to-date on everything. I wish you all the best

Sorry to hear about your cat. My cat had an infected uteris last year. Costed me close to $1,000 to save her life. :-(

So far our cat is holding up very well, she's beginning to walk on her own and is beginning to regain her balance and movements. She still bobs and wobbles occasionally but nearly as much as she used to. Again I thank you guys all so much, the support and our cat's well-being means everything to us, and I will continue to keep you all up-to-date on everything

That's good that Fifi's feeling better; good thoughts continuing for her.

I lost track of how much our cat has cost in vet bills, but McGriff's worth it (got him as a stray when he was very young; he was raised completely by humans). He's been through a lot; hit by a car, enlarged heart/heart murmur that mysteriously corrected itself, chronic UTIs for a while, is currently on thyroid meds and insulin for diabetes (it's funny; he seems to know when it's time for his shot and actually waits in the kitchen). He'll be 16 in May.

I know this thread is old, not to steal it from you, but my cat is sick too.
