I kinda prefered the old front page, that way we could post loads of different topics on the same page and it was easy to find them there.

If you click “Today's Active Topics” under the search box on the new front page you will be taken to a page displaying all the posts on the board that were either posted or replied to that day.
The purpose of the new front page is to display content to new users so they could easily find things (there was too much information on the old front page). Also, I wanted to make sure the front page loaded faster so users could quickly make a decision and start browsing their favorite parts of the site without having to wait for the front page to load (it was a huge page).
I still plan on creating a “my.ghostbusters.net” so that people can customize their own frontpage. I'm planning on starting that project after the big update is finished.

Yeah, I saw the page and i thought that it was my browser for a sec there! but to be honest, even though it loads faster i liked the original GBN page. it showed all recent posts. i liked that. but yes it does load faster and that is handy for those out there with slower connections. i cant wait till the custom option comes to the board. good call.
