My son got a remote control car for christmas and he has broken the body of the car already (DONT get a 5 year old a remote control car its a waste of money sometimes) but anyways I i am gonna take the motor out of it which still works and put it in my polar lights ecto 1 model, I am hoping it will work after I rebuild the little motor to fit in the model car, anyways I will keep the board posted on the progress of this project
This sounds like an awesome idea. I've rigged working lights to my Ecto-1, which I am currently building another one of, Since I sold all of the others I ever did. Finally building a contest car for myself. However the Polar Lights car, to get a working rig for a motor isn't very hard.. The interior would have to be cut down almost the entire way, outside of the front cockpit. The rest, I'd say remove witha Razor Saw. As for working steering? The transition could be done. But they do sell 1:24th scale Race kits. Look up Testor's RPM cars. These may help you even farther.
Can't wait to see pictures!
