Hi,

I'm a European based player and I've been having difficulties connecting to an online game. I either get a message “Can't join” even before entering the lobby or I get one after the lobby when the game is actually loading: “Unable to connect - wrong map version”. I've been trying to join a game now for an hour and I still haven't gotten in. It's very frustrating and I bought the game mainly for multiplayer. I would hate to return it, since I find it very fun and I love trapping ghosts. The single-player just doesn't cut it for me, I'm always more interested in the online experience of any game. Not to take away from the storyline, which I just got done playing and which was absolutely great and funny.

I did a search on this board but it didn't help me… I looked as far back as 4 pages and I didn't find anything about this. A google search however has shown me that a lot of people are having these kinds of problems.

Will there be a patch released in the near future or is there perhaps a way to work around this?

Any help would be welcome.

I have it all the time, out of 30 attemps to join a game only 1 succeeds or so.

I don´t have those problems with that here in Mexico.

I have the same problem as well. I think guys from Europe cant play with guys from the US. I know its dumb but i have never played with anyone from US.

So I gave up and imported the XBOX 360 version instead.

Yeah this seems to be the problem alright. Luckily more European players have been showing up the last couple of days so my efforts of finding matches have been somewhat more fruitful.

Yeah, I have been having the same trouble too. Yesterday, I was playing multiplayer for almost an hour and 4 times in a row got the Wrong Map Version message just before gameplay…very frustrating. I wish there was a way to create games limited to your country. In the past I've seen games that have countries maps next to the origin of the game.
