Yet another stocking-stuffer for Ghostheads?

I can't believe nobody has posted anything about this yet:

This is a pair of ‘Night Vision Goggles’, made by Jakks Pacific. These things run around $100 or a little more, but they use “actual night-vision technology” to allow you to…well, see at night. It does exactly what it says on the tin.

Anyway, I just thought I'd post this because, to a Ghostbusters fan, they resemble a rather futuristic pair of Ecto-Goggles. You'd have the Ectoplasmic Sensor up on top, the “light” on the left-hand eyepiece, and an LCD monitor in the right-hand one–I think. It could be reversed. And, yes, it does feature an actual LCD monitor inside one of the eyepieces…I wonder if you could use this to “see” ghosts? If anything, it'd be a creative addition to someone's GB costume, if it doesn't work.

Those seem pretty cool, although it bugs me that the red light is on there, let alone the fact that its bigger than either lens. Its very distracting.

The red light might just be for illustration. That said, you'd have to test one of these for yourself, because I'm not sure how they work.

Eh, yet another pricey toy…

I concur, it does look like the evolution of the Ecto Goggles, but that's about it… it's certainly not something I feel the need to own, especially at that price.

Don't worry, when these don't get sold by Christmas, the price tag will come way, way, WAY down.

They're $63 on Amazon right now.

And the red LEDs on top can be turned on or off. They help to see if its really dark I guess.

They're under $50 at Target now.
